MATEF Pays Tribute to International Tennis Hall of Fame

250 USTA members and Kastles VIPs have raised $14,000 for the Mid-Atlantic Tennis and Education Foundation (MATEF) at the 8th Annual USTA Party With Billie Jean King At WTT Finals party and auction on Sunday, July 26. Attendees enjoyed free food and drinks including Chipotle fare, wine donated by Breaux Vineyards, fruit and chocolate centerpieces donated by Edible Arrangements, and beer donated by Corona.
MATEF president David Wendt said, "We have surpassed all previous summer auction records, and, most importantly, we will be able to provide tennis scholarships for more children in the Mid-Atlantic region. We truly appreciate the support of both our donors and purchasers. This is a win-win for everyone."
More than 100 area merchants supported MATEF's annual summer fundraiser. In addition, renowned tennis coach Wayne Bryan offered his services for a one-hour private clinic, the Evert Tennis Academy provided a junior camp week for 2010, Caron Butler signed his jersey, Ryan Zimmerman signed a ball, and JetBlue Airways donated tickets.
