QuickStart Line Grant
Painting permanent QuickStart tennis lines at your facility is the next step in creating permanency for the format that will change the face of youth tennis in America. USTA/Mid-Atlantic (MAS) wants to partner with your community to help you accomplish this common goal, and grow youth tennis to its fullest.
The rules have changed! All 10 and Under tournaments and Jr. Team Tennis Programs must take place on age appropriate sized courts using appropriate equipment.
Purpose:
Funding provided by the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section and USTA National to assist communities with the cost of painting QuickStart tennis lines on existing courts. Line grants also cover the cost to purchase temporary clay court lines.
Amount:
USTA Mid-Atlantic will match dollar for dollar the investment a local community makes toward the total cost of lining up to four (4) courts to make up the required 50% local match. Available USTA Mid-Atlantic funds will be capped at four courts per facility. Currently, the cost to line QuickStart courts is approximately $250-$450 per court.
Requirements:
1. Facility must apply for a 2011 USTA Public Facility Category I Assistance Program Grant ( Four (4) Court maximum grant which requires a 50% local match) by filing out a Facility Assistance Form http://ct.usta.com/pfa/
2. Facility must be willing to line a minimum of two courts.
3. Facility must sign a letter pledging to continue the QuickStart format for a minimum of 3 years to be eligible for future USTA Mid-Atlantic grant funding.
4. Park and Recreation Departments that apply must be a designated Tennis in the Parks Agency.
5. Community Tennis Associations that apply must be registered in the national database.
6. Schools that apply are encouraged to have QuickStart tennis lines for elementary and Junior High campuses and no-cut programs in High School.
7. Colleges and Universities that apply must participate in the Tennis On Campus Program.
8. NJTL chapters that apply must be an NJTL chapter in good standing.
9. Private clubs are eligible to apply if they use or pledge to use the QuickStart format.
Application process:
Work with an assigned USTA or Section representative to gather required information for a technical review and to develop a concept plan so you can obtain an estimate.

Reimbursement:
After the project has been completed and USTA National has received pictures of the finished project and a copy of the final contractor’s invoice, then USTA Mid-Atlantic will reimburse the local facility for the amount of the USTA/MAS grant.

The USTA National office also offers larger Facility Assistance Grants for resurfacing (Category II up to $35,000) or new construction (Category III up to $50,000). These grants have no matching USTA Mid-Atlantic funds.
