Frequently Asked Questions
(How Are Standings Determined?)
Q: How is my son or daughter’s standing calculated?
A: Players earn points according to the round reached in tournament play (see Rules and Regulations for point tables). Cumulative point totals, which determine a player’s relative standing, are based on the point totals for 100 percent of his/her best five singles tournaments plus 15 percent of his/her best five doubles tournaments within the latest 12 month period. Point totals also include bonus points, awarded for significant wins.
Q: Eligible vs. ineligible players:
A: Players are listed as eligible once they receive 100 points and one match win. Players not meeting the eligibility criteria appear on the ineligible list along with players who have recently aged up.
Q: How do bonus points factor into my standing?
A: Bonus points are awarded according to the standing of the defeated player at the start of the month (note: not the player’s latest weekly standing). They are then factored into the winning player’s monthly final standing at the beginning of the ensuing month and carried forward from that point.
