The Mid-Atlantic’s women’s team from Middleburg, Va. captured the national title at the USTA League 4.0 Senior National Championships held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. from Oct. 14 to Oct. 16.

 

The Middleburg team defeated a team from Beverly, Mass., 2-1 in the Championship match. Earlier in the day, the Middleburg team defeated a team from Tulsa, Okla., 3-0 in the semifinals. They advanced this far by winning their round-robin flight.

 

The team is captained by Joan Eliot and features Kelsey Leachman, Kristen Byers, Maria Eldredge, Patty Jarvis, Elaine Burden, Kimberley Smithers, Angela Prow, Kristiane Graham, Stewart Herbert, Page Dimos and plays at the Middleburg Tennis Club, Middleburg, Va.

 

The top four teams in order of finish are: Mid-Atlantic, New England, Missouri Valley and Florida.
